It's time again for the Empty Bowls event to benefit the Alameda County Food Bank. On Thursday, June 5, for only $40, a family of four can go, get a bowl of soup, some bread, and you get to take home a bowl hand-painted by the students at Redwood Day. There is also a guest speaker, and this year it is Erin Lewellen from Revolution Foods, which was founded on the simple desire for all students to have access to healthy, fresh food on a daily basis. What is great about this event is that it's early and short....it starts at 5:30 and you can be out of there by 7:00 easily.....and have made a difference. You might even get published in Oakland Magazine...as Ry and I did last year! We'll be there again this year.....let me know if you want to join us!
